For the past few months we have all been facing uncertain and unprecedented times as the planet deals with the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
At JD Physiotherapy, since 19th March, we took the position to close our clinics for Face to Face (FTF) treatment. This position has not changed, however we have been carrying out video calls to assess patients, check rehab and monitor progress. This has worked well and run smoothly, and although still a compromise compared to FTF treatment, a great deal can still be achieved through a video call.
We are following the guidelines very closely and monitoring any changes made. The current position from the CSP is that FTF can recommence however certain criteria need to be met, including justification that FTF is clinically necessary over a remote session, and deterioration would occur if this isn’t carried out. At the moment, our stance is that we feel it is too high a risk to open at present. Staff and patient safety is our number one priority. We do however, have the appropriate PPE ready for when we do start up again. We will of course keep you updated as and when our position changes.
As a final note, we would all like to wish everyone well and we urge people to stick stringently to the rules and guidelines set out by our government. The more we follow these guidelines, the sooner we will all be reunited with friends and family, and life can return to normal.
